Steps to install the factory system on the Xiaomi Redmi

Now, after you finish downloading the appropriate ROM for your phone from the links attached above, there are three methods that you will be able to use to restore your phone to the original ROM, or factory mode and this method will depend entirely on the type of ROM, or the current phone mode. In the event that your phone works without any current problems in the system and you only want to update to the last system, then you will implement the usual method that the phone provides you from within the settings themselves and this is the first method.

The second method is also completely official but with a special tool for flashing the official Xiaomi or Redmi ROMs called Mi Flash Tool which is completely official and has been programmed by the company’s official programmers, and you will need it if your phone is facing any problem so that it does not work with any system now, or it faces some Typical system errors such as commenting on the Mi logo, frequent reboot problem before entering the system, black screen problem, etc. However, unlike the first method, it requires that you have the official Fastboot system for your phone (It is with TGZ extension instead of the usual ZIPYou can download it from XiaomiFirmwareUpdater .

As for the last method, which I advise you not to go to unless you UN succeeded in the previous two methods, which is installing the official ROM for the phone by means of the modified recovery or you want to try MIUI ROM installation is for Chinese user for example. In our case here it will be TWRP recovery and we will also give a detailed explanation of how it is used to retrieve the phone system again.

necessary requirements

Before taking any steps, you must charge the phone battery to at least 60%.
Save then backup copy of the contents of the internal phone memory , in order to preserve them from the occurrence of anything wrong.
You can later download and install Fastboot ROMs with the Mi Flash Tool .
Download the Xiaomi USB driver (for Mi Flash II installation).
Transfer the official MIUI software with a Zip extension to the internal phone memory (outside any folders).

Official MIUI system installation (within settings)

Download the update file from the link provided above, then transfer the official update file to the internal phone memory.
Go to Settings app > About phone > System updates . Now by pressing the three points above list select the phrase ” choose the update package ” or the Select Update , the Package .
Or, you can just skip the last step by launching the Updater app which you will find within the system applications on your phone.

From here, go to the update file that you moved to the internal memory in the first step, then the system will directly (Decrypt) the update file and then install it automatically.

Install the official MIUI software with the Mi Flash Tool

Installing MIUI with Mi Flash will restore the phone to factory settings. Which means that all contents of the phone’s storage will be erased, including all application data, images, videos, and contacts. So first make sure that you save a backup Backup phone before you start implementing the following instructions.

Download the appropriate MIUI Global TGZ ROM for your phone, then extract its contents using 7Zip.
Also download the Mi Flash Tool from above, then also install it on your computer.
Once the tool is installed on your computer, run it. Then restart your phone into Fastboot mode. To do so, turn your phone off completely. Then press and hold the Power + Volume Down button together simultaneously until you see the FASTBOOT logo green on the phone screen.

Now connect the phone to the computer with the USB cable (preferably the original cable) and then press the Refresh button in the Mi Flash Tool. The tool should now recognize your phone’s presence and appear inside it.

Now press the Select button on the Mi Flash tool and choose the MIUI Global ROM Contents folder from the first step.

In Flash Tool from the bottom, choose Save User Data in case you do not want to lose the contents of the phone memory if you open the bootloader some time ago. You can also choose the Clean all and lock option in case you want to re-lock the bootloader again (in case you have previously unlocked it). As for the Clean all option, it will make a complete formate for the phone while maintaining the open bootloader.
When you have completed the previous step, now press the Flash button and wait for the MIUI system installation process to complete on Xiaomi or Redmi phone. The update installation process should take a maximum of 5 to 10 minutes.

Once the update is complete, you should see the phrase Success on the Flash Tool once the phone automatically reboots into the official MIUI system.

MIUI (factory) installed with TWRP recovery

You should make sure that your phone has an unlocked Bootloader
You will also need to download and install the necessary ADB / Fastboot tools on your Windows desktop. We usually refer to them in our annotations to C: / Program Files / adb , C: adb, or C: / Program Files / Minimal ADB and Fastboot (depending on which version you choose) and this is where the ADB Definitions folder you will need while executing the installation instructions below.
You will also need to download and install the custom and appropriate TWRP recovery for your phone version.

Important note: If you choose to install a ROM for the Chinese market, you should know that all of these versions come without the usual official Google services like Play Store, Maps, Gmail etc. Thus, of course, you will need to install these services “separately” during the official ROM installation process. So, you can get Google services appropriate for your phone version either by GApps.

Steps to install the official MIUI software using TWRP Recovery

Download the appropriate ROM version for your phone via the links included in the download section above.
Connect a Redmi / Xiaomi phone to your desktop device using a USB cable (preferably the original cable).
Transfer the ROM file as well as the GApps or BiTGApps package to your phone’s internal or external storage.
Disconnect the phone from the USB cable and then completely turn it off.
Long press Volume Up + Power buttons simultaneously for several seconds until the phone takes off inside TWRP recovery mode.
On the main TWRP recovery menu, head to the ‘Wipe’ option and then swipe the ‘Swipe to Factory Reset’ button below to return the phone to factory setting. You should know that this step is necessary in the event that your phone is running a modified ROM or the previous MIUI Global ROM. In the event that the phone is running with the MIUI version, the Chinese beta version (the older version of the same ROM that we are talking about in today’s lesson) , then you can skip this step and keep all the phone files.

Once the format step is completed, return to the main recovery interface.
Head over to the ‘Install’ option.

Now browse the phone memory files to the MIUI ROM ZIP file that you transferred to the phone memory in the previous steps.
Did you choose the ROM, now click on the ‘Add more ZIPs’ option below and then choose the GApps Zip or BiTGApps package.

Finally, swipe the Swipe button below to start the official MIUI flashing ROM on your phone.
