Huawei Mate 40 (Pro) specifications

The  new Huawei Mate 40 series was launched through a special event that was launched online in China, as we used to in the recent period with the current circumstances. And after you got the Mate 40 Pro wallpapers from the previous section, then let’s talk a little bit about the specifications of the new and extraordinary Huawei devices.

Huawei Mate 40 Pro

Water-fall OLED display (curved on both sides)

Starting with the screen, as we mentioned, one of the things that distinguishes the new Mate 40 series is the screen. So, here you will get a 6.5-inch OLED display with the Mate 40 , while the larger Mate 40 Pro has an OLED screen as well, but it is 6.76-inches. The screen here, as we mentioned, is waterfall, i.e. curved from the sides and also features support for a 90Hz refresh rate, as well as 1344×2772 pixels dimensions.

Kirin 9000 chip with 5nm

If you are wondering about the processor, it is the best and most powerful processor ever from Huawei, which is the Kirin 9000 with a precision of manufacture of 5nm with 24 cores and a frequency of up to 2.54Hz with a graphics processor Mali-G78 MP24 and do not forget about support of 5G frequencies, which is the second in this Resolution after Apple’s A14 Bionic chip.

Still without Google services!

Of course, the operating system here is Android 10 from Google, along with the new custom EMUI 11 interface from the company, but despite that all the new Mate 40 versions unfortunately come “not supportive” for all the usual Google Play services. Of course, there are some ways around this problem, but it is never stable and is constantly being changed. Instead of Google services, you will find that the phone works with Huawei mobile services as well as AppGallery as an alternative to the usual Play Store.

4 cameras with a new design

As for going to the photography and lenses features, the basic version here came with three rear cameras, while the Pro version came with four lenses on the back, and the Pro Plus version came with 5 lenses. The design here is unique and brand new, and it is round and in the center the logo of LEICA. The company claims that it borrowed this design from the first black hole that was actually photographed about a year and a half ago!

Mate 40 Pro camera

In any case, apart from the new and strange design, the Mate 40 Pro features a 50-megapixel primary lens with an f/1.9 lens, a sensor size of 1.22 microns, and support for HDR, PDAF and panorama photography of course. There is also an 12-megapixel telephoto lens, an 12-megapixel Ultra-wide lens, and finally a new sensor with laser technology with the help of the primary lens for fast autofocus.

On the front, you will get a dual-lens selfie camera, one of which is a basic 13-megapixel camera with f/2.4 lens slot, and the other is a TOF 3D sensor to help isolate the real background and calculate the depth of the image accurately while shooting a selfie portrait.
