Although the American tech giant was expected to announce this update at the end of this year (September 2024), the new 24H2 ISO update is now available for download and installation as we speak. This update is distinguished by supporting all the new AI features that we’ve recently heard about from Microsoft, including Copilot and Recall.

You might be aware that a version of Windows 11 has recently leaked, named Windows 11 24H2 LTSC. Although the name is similar, it is entirely different from the version we are discussing here, as the LTSC version is designed for enterprises and organizations and lacks many features found in regular Windows versions.

Although most of the new AI features and Copilot+ enhancements will be exclusive to laptops with Snapdragon X chips, the 24H2 update itself includes many of its own upgrades and improvements. These include, for example, support for Wi-Fi 7 connectivity, access to the quick settings menu by swiping down, and the ability to create 7-zip or tar files directly within File Explorer without needing external tools

The new Windows 11 24H2 update will be rolled out to users in two separate waves. The first wave, named Copilot+, includes a feature-rich update with advanced AI capabilities, primarily targeting new devices running on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon X processors. This is a new collaboration between Qualcomm and Microsoft to launch computers with these processors, designed to maximize the use of AI features.

The other wave is for regular PCs, which will also include most of the AI features mentioned above, except for some exclusive features available only on Snapdragon X devices.

After that, a page will appear with a large selection of Windows 11 24H2 ISO versions. Choose any of them, but make sure that ‘X64‘ is written next to it, as there is another version intended for Windows tablets which is ARM. Refer to the following image:

Then, another window will appear with some options such as language. Just click on the ‘Next‘ button.

Now you’ll see that the download has started and will finish in a very short time! At this point, you haven’t downloaded the Windows 24H2 iso file yet; instead, you’ve downloaded a Zip file containing other files from the site. Inside this Zip file, you’ll need to run the uup_download_windows.cmd file to start downloading the ISO file on your PC.

Once you click on this file, a command window will appear, and the Windows download process will start immediately. You will find the ISO file in the same folder that contains the files you downloaded. Just wait for this process to complete, and then proceed with the steps to install the new OS.

• Download Rufus tool.
• Burn the Windows iso image to an external drive (with at least 8 GB of capacity).
• Insert the flash drive into the computer where you want to install Windows.
