A few hours ago, Samsung silently announced its all-new mid-range phone, which is supposed to be a competitor to the flagship categories, the Galaxy S23 FE. If you do not know, the abbreviation FE here stands for Fan Edition, which we saw for the first time after the famous problem with the GALAXY Note 7 batteries – and after the Korean company withdrew the units affected by this defect, it launched the same phone again after solving the battery problem after adding the letters FE or A symbol of loyalty for Galaxy phone users.

After that, the company continued to follow the same approach with the S series, launching the usual flagship phones, and then several months later launching the FE version with some small sacrifices from the same series, as happened with the Galaxy S20 FE and S21 FE – knowing that the S22 series did not get this version.

However, the GALAXY S23 FE came with some very distinctive specifications, such as the Dynamic AMOLED display, the Exynos 2200 chip (global versions) or the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 for the American or Korean versions, and some other powerful internal hardware, which we will talk about in a moment. With the powerful specifications, Samsung also designed some new default wallpapers with the phone, which, although they are very similar to those we saw before with the Galaxy S23 phones, are still worth downloading and using on the phone.

The phone was announced a few hours ago and we do not know anything about its price yet, nor even about the date of its availability in the global markets. Display

Starting from the front, the Samsung S23 FE came with a 6.4-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X screen with FHD+ resolution and dimensions of 1080×2340 pixels with a 19.5:9 aspect ratio and a pixel density of 403 pixels per inch. This display is very good and supports a 120Hz refresh rate and a brightness level of up to 1450 nits (under sunlight), and the screen is also protected by a layer of Gorilla Glass 5. The fingerprint sensor is also present here, of the optical type under the display.

Chip and memory options

Under the hood, you will get the Exynos 2200 chip with 4nm from Samsung if you purchased the global version. However, if you are somehow able to purchase the American or Korean version, then you will get the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chip for the leading devices from Qualcomm.

Speaking of memory options, you will not have much here as the phone is available in only two versions, which are 128 or 256GB of storage capacity with only 8GB of RAM, without a port for additional microSD chips. The operating system is Android 13 with One UI 5.1, if you were wondering.

Camera

The camera and photography capabilities here are supposed to be one of the special things that you might buy this phone for because it is the same camera that you will get from a flagship phone like the GALAXY S23+, for example. So, here you will get three rear imaging sensors, one of which is a 50-megapixel primary camera with an f/1.8 lens aperture and OIS support.

The other lens is a telephoto lens with a focal length of 75mm and a resolution of 8-megapixels with an f/2.4 lens aperture and the ability to zoom up to 3 times (like the iPhone 13 Pro). As for the last lens, it is Ultrawide for shooting wide angles with a resolution of 12-megapixels. As for the front, there is a single selfie camera inside a hole in the middle of the screen with a resolution of 10-megapixels.
